Kutana-Wema:
A Hope-Building Project

50% of proceeds from notary public services are donated to children in need via the Wema Centre in Kenya.
If you need a document notarized or a travel consent letter when travelling with your minor children, please contact our firm. Doing so will support the Wema Centre and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children it serves.

What is a notary?

A notary (or notary public) is a person who can serve as an official witness to the signing of contracts, agreements, and nearly any legal documents. Notaries may also certify documents to be true copies of the original.

What to know prior to your visit:

  • Please bring government-issued photo ID to have your document(s) notarized.
  • Do not sign your document before your appointment. You must sign in the physical presence of the notary public.

Our Care in Action

Darlene’s commitment to giving back extends beyond her legal practice.

In 2024, Darlene spent a week at the Wema Centre in Mombasa, Kenya, a place dedicated to rescuing street children. There, she learned from frontline counsellors, participated in daily activities with rescued children and assisted WEMA staff on their weekly outreach efforts, delivering milk, food and hope to children living at the local dump site.

During her visit, Darlene witnessed the Wema Centre providing refuge to two teenage victims of sexual violence. Thanks to a generous donation of a Kutana-Wema volunteer, one young girl could afford the cost of boarding school. She quickly enrolled and left her home at the dump site for a better life filled with opportunities.

By donating proceeds from notary services, Darlene hopes to further support Wema’s efforts.
